Prescott AZ (September 21, 2020) – Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system and creates physical and psychological dependence. Arizona is now experiencing a marked increase in the number of dealers and users of the dangerous product. Federal, state and local law enforcement saw a 342% increase in the methamphetamine seizures from FY 2015-FY 2019. Sedona AZ (September 19, 2020) – On 09/19/2020 at approximately 0207 hours, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Bell Rock Inn and Resort located in the 6200 block of AZ 179 in Sedona (Village of Oak Creek). Dispatch had received reports of a male subject, later identified as 34 year old Andre Scroggins of Gilbert AZ, hitting a female victim inside their room. Witnesses stated they heard a female yelling that her baby was not safe.
Prescott AZ (September 19, 2020) – Yavapai County Recorder, Leslie Hoffman would like to inform the public about recent misinformation circulating about the mail in ballot process. There have been statements made that ballots returned by mail using the Business Reply envelope provided are treated by the Post Office as bulk mail and are then delivered slower. This is incorrect. Business Reply Mail is treated as First Class Mail and has priority over bulk mail. It is the same as if one had placed a stamp on the envelope.

Cottonwood AZ (September 19, 2020) – UPDATE – The 17-year-old suspect involved in the assault incident will have his case heard in adult court. As a result, YCSO is identifying the suspect. Cornville AZ (September 18, 2020) – On September 16, 2020, utilizing grant funding from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, a YCSO deputy conducted traffic enforcement along a stretch of Cornville Road outside of the Cornville community area. In the past few months, there have been several serious collisions along this section of roadway.
