Sedona AZ (November 10, 2020) – Sedona Fire District (SFD) lifts fire restrictions previously in effect for all portions of the fire district effective November 11th at 08:00 am.Recent rains along with higher humidity and increased fuel moistures have lowered, but not eliminated fire danger in the fire district. SFD encourages everyone to be responsible when working with or around fire. Sedona AZ (November 10, 2020) – The Sedona Police Department launched a traffic enforcement effort with support from two Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grants totaling $11,200.The first grant pays overtime to enforce and participate in driving under the influence (DUI) programming. Approximately one-third of all traffic crash fatalities in the U.S. involve drunk drivers. In 2018, there were 10,511 people killed in these preventable crashes.

Cornville AZ (November 10, 2020) – On Tuesday November 10, 2020 at approximately 5:00 AM, the Verde Valley Fire District responded to the report of a Residential assignment in the area of Austin Circle in Cornville.VVFD was dispatched to the report of a residential fire. When crews arrived on the scene the found a motorhome that was fully involved. The fire was extinguished with the use of hose lines and power tools. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Prescott AZ (November 10, 2020) – On November 3, 2020, voters in Arizona approved Proposition 207, an initiative that decriminalized personal possession and use of marijuana in an amount less than one ounce and limits personal cultivation of marijuana by a person age twenty-one (21) and older. The effective date of Proposition 207 will be in approximately 30 days. Sedona AZ (November 9, 2020) – On November 7th, 2020, at approximately 6:50 PM, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of 55 Cathedral Rock Drive in the Village of Oak Creek in reference to a domestic disturbance in which the female subject involved had discharged a firearm. Upon arrival, the subject confronted the deputies outside of her residence armed with a handgun.  After multiple attempts at de-escalation and negotiations as well as numerous verbal commands to drop the weapon, the subject brandished the firearm.  In response to the threat to himself and the other first responders, a patrol sergeant…
