By Ted Grussing… I took this shot last Friday when a friend and I went down to Lake Pleasant to go hunt for what ever wildlife we could find. As always there were a lot of donkeys all around the lake and some, like this gal, were taking sunbaths on the very sandy beaches … she had just awoken from a nap and this rather silly grin on her face … a look of pure joy and “I’m alive” outlook on life.

Phoenix AZ (August 21, 2021) – Results from monitoring work this spring suggest that Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd), the fungus that causes white-nose syndrome (WNS) in bats, may be present in samples collected from multiple species in five counties across California and northwestern Arizona.The analytical results for these samples are considered “inconclusive” based on established national standards for the disease, which means they do not provide definitive evidence of the fungus being present in those bat populations. However, officials note they do underscore the importance of increased surveillance for WNS and the public’s help in reporting sick or dead bats on…

Only Arizona Department of Health Services instruction meets requirementsPhoenix AZ (August 20, 2021) – Registration is now available for required Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) training for those seeking licenses to own and operate adult-use marijuana establishments under the voter-approved social equity program. This free virtual Social Equity Ownership Training will be held live on Sept. 20-21 and then offered as recorded sessions with live Q&A on Oct. 12-13. To offer additional flexibility for prospective applicants, ADHS also will offer computer-based training from mid-October through mid-December.
