… the two hen common mergansers above were flying low and extremely fast as they cruised low over the lake and they reminded me of the F-18’s flying low over the water in Top Gun Maverick, as they approached landfall and headed inland to their target. No such actions were contemplated by our merganser friends … I think … among the fastest flying ducks, they have been clocked at 81 mph. A couple of very cool birds. The shot below is sky reflections near sunset on the lake between the 10th and 18th holes on our golf course … the…

… I really like the shots I am finding in the several Peregrine shoots that I had at the lake and the photo above is no exception. The Peregrine is seriously trying to scare up a meal as he dive bombs a seagull that was bobbing along in the water below … wisely the seagull did not go into flight mode and rode it out. The Peregrine was trying to get the gull to fly which would have been rather fatal for the gull. The Peregrine made several more attempts and it looked like he even clipped the gull with…

By Amaya Gayle Gregory Remaining present, being in the now, is not the panacea many gurus make it out to be, a snitch of time that has magical properties, a moment of presence that opens the doors to truth, that sets everything aright. Now is a pointer, a pointer that like all pointers, points to a bigger reality. All life points in one non-directional direction – home, to the mystery we are. Every experience, what we call things, has always sung, is always singing, the praise of infinite aliveness and that includes the hugely misunderstood concept of the present moment. …
… the Peregrine Falcon at the top of the missive is a new addition to the portfolio and I got the shot after she had taken off from the now disappeared island in Castle Hot Springs bay on the NW end of Lake Pleasant. I didn’t see her or her mate on the trip down to the lake this past week, but perhaps they’ll be there later this week. She was moving out at a pretty good speed when I took this shot, but nowhere near her top speed of more than 100 mph in level flight … the fastest…

By Amaya Gayle Gregory Absolute surrender, standing by as the glitch in the human mainframe blows itself up. You know the one, the idea that you can control the outcome, can improve your health, your finances, your relationships, that you can invoke or affirm, can listen within and shift reality, can pray something into or out of existence. Yeah, that one. My life keeps upping the ante, resurrecting those little bits of fragility I thought I’d dealt with. When I try something new, a super supplement, a shift in diet, drops of CBD, it works … for a while ……
