Sedona, AZ — In a letter dated April 4, 2023, the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau notified it’s partners that it would not renew its contract with the City of Sedona for Fiscal Year 2023. … today continued my winning streak on good days to be alive, but it brought to mind another day when I was flying over the plateau NE of Flagstaff and came back towards the city and decided to spend some time shooting the area that NASA converted into a lunar landing area that mimicked what the astronauts would be experiencing when they actually landed on the moon. More information here … and the part that Lowell Observatory played in this. On Friday, April 14th, from 3-5 pm, the Pumphouse Poetry and Prose Project will host a show in honor of National Poetry Month. The show will feature local authors and classic legends. There will be music, comedy, drama, and rhyme. The show will feature Terra Shelman performing a scene from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, playing Queen Titania, Queen of the faeries with Steve Jenness performing as Oberon. Verde Valley News – Music in the Stacks returns on Thursday, April 13th at 5:00 pm in Camp Verde Community Library’s Fireside Room. Music in the Stacks is a showcase of local and national musicians who entertain regularly in Northern Arizona. There are 3-5 different performers during the show, with a rotating variety each month. April’s concert features Ed Amash, Ferrilyn Sourdiffe, and Greg Gould. Sedona News – The Sedona Heritage Museum will feature a chair caning demonstration on April 17, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Dale Compton will demonstrate the steps for hand caning a traditional chair seat, a hobby that requires time and patience, but very few tools. Dale has been hand caning chairs as a hobby for eighteen years and has caned nearly 70 chairs. He obtains the chairs from flea markets, garage sales and friends, often as derelicts in poor condition.
