The Green Team is comprised of City staff members who since 2007 have worked to reduce consumption, increase efficiency and generally make operations at City Hall more environmentally friendly.

Sedona AZ (December 9, 2012) – Early Friday morning (December 7) a blaze broke out at Verde Hay Market and Feed in Cottonwood. At 10:00 a.m. the flames were extinguished; the hay bales were still smoldering. No injuries were reported however some baby chicks and a parrot were lost. Firemen stated a number of other farm animals were saved. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Film Festival presents award-winning new films at its Mary D. Cottonwood AZ (December 6, 2012) – This Saturday, December 8th, 2012, the annual Verde “Shop with a Cop” event is taking place in Cottonwood. This is the 10th year that law enforcement agencies from the Verde Valley have joined together to provide a special holiday shopping experience for area children. These children have been carefully selected with help from local schools and social service agencies. The goal of the “Shop with a Cop” program is to help families with needed financial assistance and to allow the kids to experience positive interaction with law enforcement officers.
