    Guidance Counselor Arrested
    for Drug Sales

Prescott AZ (January 13, 2016) – Earlier this month, detectives from the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) task force received information indicating a West Yavapai Guidance Clinic (with offices in Prescott/Prescott Valley) case manager was selling heroin and methamphetamine. The case manager was identified as 45-year-old Marla Davis from Prescott Valley.

During follow-up, detectives confirmed a sale of heroin by Davis which occurred at a Yavapai County residence. As the investigation continued, PANT detectives also confirmed the sale of methamphetamine by Davis occurring in the Prescott area. On January 8, 2016, Davis was contacted during a traffic stop and currency from the earlier sale of methamphetamine was seized. Detectives also discovered Davis was in possession of a counterfeit $100 bill, a methamphetamine pipe, and a digital scale with visible methamphetamine and heroin residue.

Davis admitted using methamphetamine a couple of days prior and acknowledged selling drugs on occasion to ex-clients from the guidance clinic.

Davis was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including Possess Narcotic Drug for Sale, Possess Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possess/Use Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Money Laundering. She has since been released on a $25,000 bond. Davis has since been terminated from any duties at West Yavapai Guidance Clinic.

The investigation into Davis’ actions remain ongoing and detectives are encouraging anyone who may have had contact with her, or has specific knowledge of these activities, to please call YCSO at 928-771-3260 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1800-932-3232.
