On Monday, November 17, communities across the country will recognize America Recycles Day.
To all of you who rinse the jars, flatten the boxes, and make trips to the bins, your simple actions keep tons of material out of the landfill and help protect the red rock country we all love. Thank you!
If recycling isn’t part of your routine yet, America Recycles Day is the perfect time to start. Here in Sedona, we’re lucky to have a terrific local partner making it easy. For more than 30 years, Sedona Recycles has been our only full-scale nonprofit recycling center, diverting hundreds of tons of waste from the landfill every year.
But recycling only works when the right materials go in the bins. Dropping off items that can’t be recycled adds to their labor and disposal costs. Before your next drop-off, take a minute to review what is and isn’t accepted at: sedonarecycles.org/accepted-materials.
When in doubt, leave it out.
