Cottonwood AZ (September 18, 2019) – On Friday Sept. 13th, at approximately 11:30pm, the Verde Valley Fire District responded to a Residential assignment in the Amante subdivision by Verde Santa Fe. On arrival crews found an built in barbeque on fire under a covered porch. Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the house. Assisting Verde Valley Fire was Cottonwood Fire and YCSO.
Sept. 14th at approximately 5:00am Verde Valley Fire responded to a report of a fully involved garage with multiple vehicles outside on fire as well. On arrival crews from VVFD and CFD found flames coming from the garage and the fire had already vented through the roof. Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the garage with no extension into the home. Other agencies assisting Verde Valley Fire were Cottonwood Fire, Verde Valley Ambulance, YCSO, ACT, Unisource and APS.
