    VVFD Responds to Two Residential Fires

    logo_verdevalleyfiredistrictCottonwood AZ (September 18, 2019) – On Friday Sept. 13th, at approximately 11:30pm, the Verde Valley Fire District responded to a Residential assignment in the Amante subdivision by Verde Santa Fe. On arrival crews found an built in barbeque on fire under a covered porch. Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the house. Assisting Verde Valley Fire was Cottonwood Fire and YCSO.

    20190918_vvfd2Sept. 14th at approximately 5:00am Verde Valley Fire responded to a report of a fully involved garage with multiple vehicles outside on fire as well. On arrival crews from VVFD and CFD found flames coming from the garage and the fire had already vented through the roof. Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the garage with no extension into the home. Other agencies assisting Verde Valley Fire were Cottonwood Fire, Verde Valley Ambulance, YCSO, ACT, Unisource and APS.

    War…What is it good for? Obviously, it is good for those who profit from destruction and the taking of human life. And what is the common denominator, the impetus for war throughout the centuries? It’s about the acquisition of land, by force, deceit or any other means possible. During the holidays I went to a party where this retired couple were recounting a land dispute they were having with their neighbor. It seems their neighbor was claiming an extra six feet on their property line and the animosity had grown so strong that they were now in court trying to settle whose six feet of land it was. Prior to the dispute they had been friendly but now they had become arch enemies, all for a tiny piece of land. Read more→
