Cottonwood AZ (June 1, 2017) – At 9:17 am June 1, 2017 Verde Valley Fire District was dispatched to a wild land fire on 89a mile post 359, cause by a vehicle that had the front tire come off of the vehicle, causing sparks and hot metal to ignite the weeds along the road. Crews were able to stop the spread of the fire within 15 minutes of arriving on scene. The fire was completely extinguished with the assistance of Sedona Fire District, Prescott National Forest Service and ADOT.

Sedona AZ (May 31, 2017) – The Memorial Day weekend in Sedona proved to be a busy one for emergency responders. Over the long weekend, fire district crews responded to three backcountry rescues, a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle in Oak Creek Canyon, and a particularly busy period where they answered 10 emergency calls in less than three hours.On Friday crews responded to a back country rescue for a hiker with a broken ankle.

So, its Memorial Day … give thanks for the service of those who gave it all for us.
Cottonwood AZ (May 29, 2017) – One of the Verde Valley Humane Society’s washing machines has finally retired. The shelter is desperately needing one, as they have to do several loads a day to clean the blankets, bedding, towels, toys and more for their furbabies. If you have a washing machine in good working order that you can donate, it would help them out tremendously.
