Phoenix AZ (October 1, 2020) – Attorney General Mark Brnovich today announced that Anthem, Inc. has agreed to pay Arizona over $280,000 to resolve allegations stemming from a 2014 data breach that involved the personal information of 78.8 million Americans. The settlement with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is part of a $39.5 million settlement with 43 total states and the District of Columbia. In addition to the payment, Anthem has also agreed to a series of data security and good governance provisions designed to strengthen its practices going forward.

Sedona AZ (September 30, 2020) – Beginning October 1, 2020, the city of Cottonwood will expand its Verde Lynx public transit service, which connects Cottonwood and Sedona, to pre-pandemic levels. The new schedule will also provide more frequent and later night bus service tailored to the needs of Cottonwood residents who work in Sedona. Federal dollars reimburse state expensesPhoenix AZ (September 30, 2020) – More than $23 million in emergency federal aid is on its way to Arizona to reimburse the Arizona Department of Transportation for costs to repair damage to roads and bridges during recent fires and floods. The funds reimburse the state for dollars used for repair work that has already been completed except in the case of this summer’s Bush Fire where work is still continuing on damage to a portion of State Route 87 north of Fountain Hills and parts of SR 188.
