Sedona AZ (March 25, 2021) – On Monday, March 22nd, 2021, at around 10:30 p.m., Yavapai County Deputies were involved in an officer involved shooting that resulted in the death of an armed and dangerous fugitive, 42-year-old Edward Kayer of Carefree.Kayer was wanted by the Sedona Police Department in connection to a shooting incident that took place on February 27th, 2021. Kayer was suspected of firing more than a dozen rounds outside a restaurant after getting into an argument with someone he was with. At the time, he left the area before police arrived on scene.
By Ted Grussing… Finlay is a falcon and likely the smallest of all raptors in this country … but his lethality is extreme. He and other American Kestrels target grasshoppers, other insects, small animals and birds . They are found throughout the United States and can frequently be found perched on fence lines, trees and such. It is always a pleasure to shoot them and sometimes you even get a good shot or three. Most of the shots I have taken are when they are facing me so it is a treat to get this view of his beautiful feathers.

By Ted Grussing… a while back I decided to try using my Canon 1.4 lens extender on my Canon100/400 mm lens; it has the effect of converting the 100/400 into a 140/560 mm lens. Most of my friends that go down to the lake with me are shooting Nikon or Sony camera bodies and have 150/600 mm lenses. The more millimeters, the longer the reach of the lens, or the practical result is a larger image of the subject in the frame.
