Flagstaff, AZ (October 26, 2011) –  The popular Doe Bear Trailhead near Sedona will be closed Monday October 31 and Tuesday November 1 while a vault toilet is being installed. Though the parking area will be closed, the trails will remain open. Alternative parking is available at the nearby Aerie Trailhead and Fay Canyon Trailhead. Flagstaff, AZ (October 26, 2011) –  The fall season for collecting live trees, known as “wildings,” from National Forest lands begins Friday, October 28 and ends November 28 on the Flagstaff District of the Coconino National Forest. Ft Valley Project: Located north and west of Hwy 180 off Forest Road 164B, crews anticipate burning approximately 267 acres. Verde Valley, AZ (October 24, 2011) – The Coconino National Forest has received a proposal from the Page Springs Road Association Inc. (PSRA) for authorization for a private road easement to provide access to agricultural and residential sites. Prescribed fire activity is difficult to plan far in advance, as burn days, project areas and acres depend on winds, ventilation, and other conditions.
