High Fire Danger Means Use Caution Flagstaff, AZ (June 4, 2011)  – The Coconino National Forest will implement fire restrictions, beginning 8 a.m. tomorrow (June 4), due to increasing fire danger. The restrictions prohibit fires, campfires, charcoal, coal and wood stoves outside of developed campgrounds and limit smoking to within enclosed vehicles or buildings or in developed campgrounds. Pressurized liquid or gas stoves, lanterns, and heaters meeting safety specifications will continue to be allowed. Airport Manager Mac McCall Gives the Back Story on the Incident Sedona, AZ (June 2, 2011) – An aviation accident occurred at Sedona Airport on May 27, 2011, at approximately 3:00 p.m. when a landing private  jet over ran the runway, crashed through a fence, slid down the hillside and came to rest approximately 300 below the end of the runway. Check Red Rock Pass Area Proposals Online Sedona, AZ (June 2, 2011) – The Forest Service would like to receive comment on two area proposals that would change which sites require the Red Rock Pass. Proposal A is a combination of smaller areas with multiple sites, and single sites along the main travel corridors near Sedona. Proposal B consists only of single sites along the same corridors.
