Nothing worse than raised taxes on everyone can happen! Does anyone really think Washington is going to let that occur? Perhaps we’ll suffer a scraped economic knee but no 300-foot straight-down-drop to a waiting shoreline of jagged rocks as the media keeps threatening and predicting.

Verde Valley AZ (December 22, 2012) – On December 12, 2012, two Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies and their K9 partners graduated from the Arizona Correctional Officer Training Academy’s (COTA) Basic K9 Service School. Deputy Jarrod Winfrey and his K9 companion Tjando, along with Deputy Eric Lopez and his K9 partner Miley, completed an intensive 9 week course at the Tucson based academy. The training covered all aspects of K9 handling including legal issues, conditioning, search/detection scenarios, narcotics odor detection, handler protection, obedience, and K9 first aid, among many others.

ADOT enters final stages of building modern interchange at I-17/State Route 69 junction Prescott AZ (December 22, 2012) – Just in time for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Arizona Department of Transportation has completed the new Cordes Junction ‘flyover’ bridge, which opened to traffic Thursday night. The overpass will lift northbound traffic headed to the Prescott area over Interstate 17 and connect directly to northbound State Route 69. Rimrock AZ (December 20, 2012) – On December 19, 2012, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at Rimrock High School, 3705 Beaver Creek Road, Rimrock, regarding a disorderly male refusing to leave. Office staff told deputies that the man, later identified 22-year-old Jeremy Whagado, came into the office requesting to remove 2 students, but could not provide their names or any legal connection to students in the school. Sedona AZ (December 20, 2012) – The City of Sedona is working with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in offering an environment-friendly way of recycling your Christmas tree. From Wednesday, December 26th, 2012 through Friday, January 25th, 2013, the City will be accepting Christmas trees for recycling into chips.
