Yavapai Food Council announces Yavapai Food Neighbors Project – a community building food donor program Sedona AZ (July 31, 2013) – According to the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC), in 2012 Arizona ranked as the 14 worst in the country for food hardship rate, up from the 15th worst in 2011. One in five Arizona households (20.9%) are now food insecure. According to local research conducted by Cornucopia Community Advocates, in our community 1 out of 4 adults are food insecure and 1 out of 3 children to do not know where their next meal will come from.

Sedona AZ (July 25, 2013) – On June 19, I made a motion and voted to support a letter from Sedona City Council to the Arizona Corporation Commission expressing concerns, on behalf of the community, about the health, safety, privacy, and cost effects of digital Smart Meters, which APS has scheduled to install on homes and businesses throughout Sedona and surrounding communities in 2013-14. Sedona AZ (July 23, 2013) – According to 2012 Food Hardship Data reported by Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) more than one in five Arizona Households (20.9%) reported not having enough money to buy the food they needed during the previous twelve months for themselves and their family. Arizona is now the 14th worst state for food hardship, up from number 15 in 2011.
Cottonwood AZ (July 23, 2013) – During the last several weeks, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detectives in conjunction with Sedona and Cottonwood Police Department detectives, reviewed several cases of credit card theft and fraud resulting in the arrest of 33-year-old Natalie Olson of Cottonwood. During this joint effort between the 3 law enforcement agencies, detectives learned the thefts and fraud took place throughout the Sedona, Cottonwood, and Camp Verde areas.
