    Sedona AZ (October 17, 2015)

    In-Take Date of April, 2015
20151017_HSS_ameliaMy name is Amelia, and I am a beautiful, 2 year old, spayed female, Heeler mix breed kind of dog.  I have been at the shelter since April of this year which is a rather long time, so my Animal Care Team wants me placed in a home as soon as is possible. They are concerned for my mental wellbeing because I am getting very sad.  Don’t get me wrong, I try to smile every day, they say “attitude is everything”, but sometimes, it hits me hard in my chest that I am alone in this world. I have been here for so long and I really want a person to love. You know what I mean . . . being without a special person in your life is just lonely and sad. I have a huge heart and need to love someone. I can’t call on a cell phone or use Facebook to contact friends and family so . . . lonely is lonely.

I am a beautiful girl who has been trained to walk on a leash/harness and truly love to walk, play ball, and love to play in the pool. I am a good swimmer. I am friendly towards other dogs but prefer to live in an only dog home. Kids are great, I just prefer the older age kids that know how to play more gently with a dog. I have heard about cats but although I don’t know much about them personally . . . I am not sure I would be a fan. I can either be taken in as a foster animal (which means temporarily until I am adopted) or I can be adopted now. Please come visit me. I could be the one for you.

If you would like to know more about Amelia log on to our website at www.humanesocietyofsedona.org  Animal ID# 11052

Interested in fostering for HSS? If you are currently a HSS volunteer please contact Chelsea Cohen at (928)282-4679 or if not, please log on to our website at www.humanesocietyofsedona.org and fill out a Volunteer/Foster Application.

Also, please come by and visit the shelter and see all the other wonderful dogs and cats that are available for adoption. It is a nice facility and I am sure you will enjoy your visit. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Also, PetSmart in Sedona is another available location to find your special cat that needs a forever home. Please call the Humane Society of Sedona at (928)282-4679 or log on to our website @ www.humanesocietyofsedona.org

    FOSTER PARENT INFORMATION:

Foster families are a critical resource for the HSS. Your gift of time and love helps our shelter animals who are in need of a home environment where they can stay socialized and live in a home where they get human attention and love. This is a long term commitment and we can guarantee that it will be one of the most memorable and heartfelt commitments of your life.

Interested in fostering for HSS? If you are currently a HSS volunteer please contact Chelsea Cohen at (928)282-4679 or if not, please log on to our website at www.humanesocietyofsedona.org and fill out a Volunteer/Foster Application.
