    Sedona AZ (September 12, 2015) –

Tucker’s Story – Intake date of November 2014

20150912_hss_tuckerMy name is Tucker and this is my story. I came into the shelter as a stray in November of 2014.  I am a handsome, neutered male, of the Domesticated Medium Hair Cat variety. I am 1 years old and I am told that I am a nice young man. I like to interact with my human companions and show them my affection.  I am FIV+ cat meaning I need to be the only cat in your home or I can live in a home where another FIV+ cat presently lives. I am looking for someone to love! Would that be you?

If you would like to know more about Tucker please call (928)282-4679 or log on to our website at www.humanesocietyofsedona.org

Loki’s Story – Intake date of April 2015

20150912_HSS_lokiMy name is Loki and I am a neutered, 1 year old male, Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a little bit of something else. That little bit of something else makes me a bit smaller than most Bull Terrier’s but I still have the strength and energy of the breed. I am 45 lbs. I am still very much a year old puppy in that I need to learn my basic dog commands but I promise . . . I am very smart and I will learn. I would love a either a single person or couple to love . . . kids can are nice, however their energy can unsettle me and I prefer a more peaceful environment.  I am such a good dog and would like a new friend. We can walk, hike and play together.

If you would like to know more about Loki please call (928)282-4679 or log on to our website at www.humanesocietyofsedona.org

    We Have Been Thoroughly Trained!
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

Throughout the years, we have been trained. Part of the training is to see others as trained, but not ourselves. Even though we are the others that others are trained to see as trained, we tend to miss that little nuance. The training says we must know what’s right and speak out when we see something that runs contrary to our understanding of rightness. We don’t stop to realize that what we see as right isn’t exactly right or it would be the right version that everyone in their right mind knew as right. There are billions of versions of right but ours is the only real right one. Seems fishy, doesn’t it? We spend our days, our lives, catching others — the wrong ones — doing and saying things in support of their versions of right and our training has us jumping on the critical bandwagon lest we be painted in support of the wrong right. What in this crazy world moves us with such amazing force to crave rightness, to need to be seen as right? Read more→
