Sedona, AZ — University Women of Sedona will host their next informational meeting on Monday, May 4, at 9:30 am when they will hear from Lisa Schnebly Heidinger, an Arizona author with a special connection to Sedona.
Lisa has written several books, her most recent a collaboration with friend Julie Morrison entitled “Arizona Friend Trips”. In this book the co-authors invite readers to explore the state’s most cherished places through a blend of poetry, prose, and photography. “From the iconic landmarks to hidden gems, each chapter of this captivating travelogue provides historical insight, personal anecdotes, and emotional reflections on Arizona’s diverse landscapes and vibrant culture.” says Heidinger. She continues that “Julie and I embarked on an unforgettable adventure, filled with laughter, nostalgia, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Grand Canyon State.” The author will be selling her books with profits going to University Women of Sedona’s scholarship fund.
At the meeting, she’ll be chatting about her last two books, “Arizona Friend Trips” and “Journal of Sedona Schnebly, as well as a bit about podcasting.
For those who aren’t familiar with Lisa, she is the great-granddaughter of T.C. and Sedona Schnebly, the latter is Sedona’s namesake.
An Arizona native, Lisa has been a newspaper reporter, but moved into television. In order to raise two children, she moved to print doing Sunday op-ed, magazines, and then books. She’s written an even dozen books, all about Arizona, and now hosts Celebrating Arizona, a podcast that lets people anywhere feel connected to Arizona.
This meeting is open to women in the Verde Valley who are interested in this topic and the opportunity to network with other women who are involved in elevating women through education. Guests are invited to attend this or a future meeting. University Women of Sedona’s mission is to give scholarships to support women in furthering their educational opportunities at an accredited local college or university. Refreshments will be served.
