Empower Yourself: Learn Life-Saving Mental Health Support with MATFORCE
Yavapai County, AZ —MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization with a focus on stopping youth drug use before it starts, is offering a course designed to equip individuals with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance abuse challenges in adults. By fostering healthier adults, the course aims to enhance their ability to support others facing mental health struggles.
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training designed to teach participants how to assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The course covers recognizing common signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance use, learning to listen non-judgmentally, and effectively connecting and interacting with those in crisis.
This in-person class is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Registration for this class ends Monday, August 11, 2025. Please note that 2 hours of pre-work is required to be completed by Wednesday, August 20, 2025, to participate in this in-person course. Class will be held at the Chino Valley Police Department Training Room located at 220 North State Route 69, ChinoValley. Registration is free and it is required for this class.
