Sedona News – Sedona Sister Cities Association is excited to announce that Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow has received an invitation from Mayor Adam Kostrzab of Jaslo, Poland, to establish a sister city relationship. Mayor Jablow responded with enthusiasm, expressing Sedona’s strong interest in fostering international goodwill, cultural exchange, and mutual growth between the two cities.
The invitation from Mayor Kostrzab highlighted Jaslo’s unique history and vibrant community. “We have been inspired by Sedona’s stunning red rock formations, its thriving arts scene, and its commitment to preserving natural landscapes,” Kostrzab wrote. “We admire not only Sedona’s physical beauty but also the innovative spirit and strong community values that characterize your city.”
In his response, Mayor Jablow conveyed Sedona’s appreciation for the proposal and the groundwork laid by Edyta Wieczorek, a native of Jaslo and active member of the Polish-American Congress of Arizona and the Sedona Sister Cities Association. “Sedona is truly honored to be considered for such a meaningful partnership,” Jablow stated. “We are excited about the possibilities for cultural exchange, educational cooperation, economic collaboration, and environmental initiatives between our two cities.”
To further explore this opportunity, the Sedona Sister Cities Association will send a delegation of eight members to Jaslo in late August. This delegation, led by Chuck Marr, President of the Sedona Sister Cities Association, and Edyta Wieczorek, Jaslo Chair, will assess the potential for a sister city relationship and engage in discussions with Jaslo officials.
“We are looking forward to this important visit,” said Chuck Marr. “It will be a crucial step in forging a strong and lasting partnership between Sedona and Jaslo. We plan to invite Jaslo officials to visit Sedona later this year”.
The delegation’s visit to Jaslo will include a comprehensive tour of the city and meetings with local leaders to discuss various areas of potential collaboration. The findings from this visit will be pivotal in determining the future steps toward formalizing the sister city relationship which requires approval by both City Councils.
