Yavapai County News – MATFORCE has partnered with Humboldt Unified School District and the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yavapai County to bring suicide prevention programming to the community. Because suicide is preventable, and anyone can make a difference.

Studies show that participants of safeTALK, a half-day training in suicide alertness skills, gain confidence in asking people about suicide directly, connecting them to life-saving resources, and keeping them safe until those resources take over. This program is widely used among professionals and the public.

Attendees will learn suicide alertness skills, the four basic steps to create a lifesaving connection, and receive a safeTALK Participant Resource Kit.

Learn how to make a connection and help save a life. Class will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Humboldt Unified School District office located at 6901 E. Panther Path, Room 122, Prescott Valley.

Register today for this free training! Email info@matforceaz.org or call (928) 708-0100 to reserve your spot. Visit matforce.org for more information.

If you or someone you know is struggling with emotional distress or thoughts of suicide, reach out now. People can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org for themselves or if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. The AZ Statewide Crisis Line is also available. Call 1-844-534-4676 or text 44673. These resources provide 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, as well as prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.
