Michelman has served in that capacity for the past two years. Sedona AZ (May 15, 2019) – The Sedona 2019 Rod Olsen Employee of the Year is Randy Scott, chief collections officer of the Wastewater Department. Scott was presented with the award May 2 at the city’s annual employee recognition event, held at Posse Grounds Park.Randy has been employed by the city since 1997, beginning his tenure as a Wastewater Plant Operator. He was promoted to chief collections operator in January 2000. Over the past 19 years Randy has helped train and mentor many Wastewater Facility operators.

Drivers should consider SR 260/SR 89A between I-17 and SedonaSedona AZ (May 14, 2019) – As Arizona Department of Transportation crews continue chip seal work along State Route 179, those traveling between Interstate 17 and Sedona should consider using SR 89A and SR 260 through Cottonwood as an alternate route.Drivers are currently experiencing hour-long delays traveling through the Village of Oak Creek between Sedona and I-17 as SR 179 is currently narrowed to one lane in 3-mile segments between the Red Rock Ranger Station and Chapel Road.
By Ted Grussing… it is hard to believe the thermals I am getting early morning over the plateau … I took this shot at 9:01 this morning near the base of Humphreys Peak at an altitude of 12,396’ whilst firmly established in a six knot thermal. I caught the thermal at a little over 10,000’ and it was a less than rowdy thermal and easy to core. Looking down I saw all the little rivulets coming off the slope and thought it would make a nice abstract shot … slowly spring is coming to the plateau … lots of snow…

Sedona AZ (May 14, 2019) – The Rotary Club of Sedona Village awarded three, $1,000 scholarships on Tuesday, May 7 at Sedona Red Rock High School.In the fall of 2018, club member, Heather Hermen, trained for the Sedona Half Marathon and raised funds for local Sedona Red Rock High School Senior scholarships. Generous donations form club members and the community were made to the club’s Charitable Fund, recognizing Heather’s extraordinary commitment to the cause. After the run on Saturday, February 2, funds were tallied and the amount totaled $3,000.

Those priorities are guided by the Community Plan goals, current circumstances in our community, and the capacity of staff to undertake new priorities while they complete existing priorities from prior years.The priorities set by council are reflected in the budget council establishes every year. Council’s job is to make sure the priorities are supported with the funding and staff required to achieve those priorities. Without sufficient funding or staff resources, priorities end up being just words on a page.
