Yavapai County News – Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced in July the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has awarded $4,500,000 in grant funding to Yavapai, Mohave, and Coconino counties to help eliminate opioid addiction for people in the criminal justice system. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office received $1,000,000 from this grant yesterday and will use the funding to support the Reach Out Program. Verde Valley News – Grant applications are being accepted now by the Coconino Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) for forest health and restoration projects that can be funded under the authority of the Secure Rural Schools and Communities Self-Determination Act. Arizona News – The outbreak of monkeypox puts all Arizonans at potential risk for the infection that is rarely fatal. According to a World Health Organization statement on July 20, the reported mortality rate for those infected by monkeypox stood at 0.00036%. Of 14,000 infections worldwide, five deaths were reported, none in the United States.
