Dedicated Volunteers conduct Focused EffortSedona AZ (July 16, 2019) – On July 10, 2019, just before 2 pm, a 50-year-old woman from California called the Sheriff’s Office and stated she had hiked off trail with her dog to a high mountain top in Boyton Canyon, Sedona. She reported not being able to find her way back and as a result, a YCSO Forest Patrol deputy coordinated a rescue with 8 volunteers from the Verde Search and Rescue Team (VSAR).

Cottonwood AZ (July 16, 2019) – UPDATE – Smokey Bear will be celebrating his 75th birthday on August 10. As part of his birthday celebration, a quilt has been created by award winning quilter Eunice Hill. The quilt is now on display at the Quilter’s Quarters in Cottonwood, located at 51 W. Verde Heights Drive which is right off of Hwy 89A, about a half a mile past the Verde Valley Medical Center. (Unfortunately, the Sedona Quilt Store has closed, so the quilt has moved to Cottonwood.) Prescott Valley AZ (July 16, 2019) – Today the Prescott Valley Police Department is requesting your assistance in locating Carlos Maya Pimentel. Pimentel is wanted for Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Kidnapping and endangerment. On April 6, 2007 Pimentel entered a residence in Prescott Valley with the intent to commit a theft. Upon entry, Pimentel assaulted three victims with a machete and baseball bat. The victims were kept from leaving the scene throughout the course of the crime. Pimentel’s warrant has a bond of $100, 000 with nationwide extradition.

Cottonwood AZ (July 14, 2019) – Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Sarah Maria Distefano. On 4/12/2019, Distefano was operating a vehicle in the area of highway 89A and Zalesky road in Cottonwood when she was stopped by a Yavapai County Deputy for failing to drive in her lane. Upon evaluation, the Deputy placed her under arrest for Aggravated DUI as her license was suspended at the time of her driving. Distefano subsequently provided two breath samples of 0.285 and 0.288, well over three times the legal limit.
Prescott AZ (July 13, 2019) – Today Yavapai County Law Enforcement needs your help finding Jorge Ivan Baldivia. On 09/02/2017, Baldivia was arrested by the Prescott Valley Police Department for having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old female. Following his conviction, he was placed on probation and was subject to sex offender registration. In February of 2008, Baldivia fled and the area, his probation, and his sex offender registration requirements.
