    logo_ycsoCottonwood AZ (July 14, 2019) – Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Sarah Maria Distefano.  On 4/12/2019, Distefano was operating a vehicle in the area of highway 89A and Zalesky road in Cottonwood when she was stopped by a Yavapai County Deputy for failing to drive in her lane.  Upon evaluation, the Deputy placed her under arrest for Aggravated DUI as her license was suspended at the time of her driving.  Distefano subsequently provided two breath samples of 0.285 and 0.288, well over three times the legal limit.

    Distefano is described as a white female approximately 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 115 pounds, with blond hair and green eyes with a tattoo on her ankle.

    Distefano has a nationwide extraditable warrant with a bond of $50,000.

    Anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of Day #14 of Yavapai Silent Witness’ Catch 22 program could be eligible for a $500.00 reward!  To provide information call 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip at yavapaisw.com.  All tips are completely anonymous.  You never have to give your name.

    Yavapai Silent Witness’ July, 2019 Catch 22 campaign which began July 1, 2019 is underway. The media release assigned to each day’s fugitive will be issued the prior afternoon to allow for media deadlines. 

    Every day through July 22, 2019, Yavapai Silent Witness will share information about a wanted fugitive from the program. A direct tip to Silent Witness resulting in the arrest of the fugitive will result in a $500 cash reward.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
