Sedona AZ (April 23, 2020) – The Sedona Fire District (SFD) and the U.S. Forest Service are joining forces to offer Sedona area residents an opportunity to dispose of their yard waste and combustible vegetation. “We are moving forward with the annual clean up with a few changes. Unfortunately, our personnel will not be available to assist people unload this year,” said Fire Marshal Jon Davis. Due to the difficulties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the program will be somewhat different from past years. SFD will host dumpsters at the following locations:

Clarkdale AZ (April 22, 2020) – OLLI (the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) invites local residents to access and contribute to their adult education activities during this Stay at Home period. OLLI usually offers each term dozens of lively in-person programs at Yavapai College campuses in Sedona and Clarkdale, for a nominal fee, which now can be offered only online (through Zoom conferencing). Those programs are led by volunteers (called facilitators), many of whom are retired. Most don’t feel ready yet to operate online, so OLLI offerings currently are reduced.
Camp Verde AZ (April 22, 2020) – On April 14, 2020, 60-year-old Martin Palumbo from Camp Verde, was arrested for 6 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center and has since been released on a $10,000 bond. Based on information received from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force and the Camp Verde Marshall’s Office in March of this year, YCSO detectives began attempting to identify a person downloading/sharing pornographic images of children. The images involved children, some under the estimated age of 10, engaged in sexual activity.
