This Great Egret flew into territory that a Great Blue Heron was hunting and getting fish from … after landing he hustled over near the GBH and snagged this diminutive fish. The GBH went on the attack mode against the intruder and our sneaky poacher took off for other parts to finish his ill gotten dinner.

Deputy intervenes and prevents an Additional $10,000 loss Cottonwood AZ (December 31, 2020) – Between December 13, 2020 and December 18, 2020, a 75-year-old Cottonwood resident received calls from a ‘Mike McCarthy’ (suspect, not real name) advising the victim his social security number had been used for illegal activity in Texas. In order to avoid a warrant for his arrest, the victim was directed to purchase $10,000 in gift cards and provide the card information to McCarthy. Prescott AZ (December 31, 2020) – Recently, the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) began administering COVID-19 inoculations using the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This follows the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Emergency Use Authorization for this vaccine. “The Northern Arizona VA is eager to offer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to our health care personnel and Veterans in our Community Living Center,” said Jean Gurga, medical center director. “Receiving the vaccine is like having hope delivered. As vaccine supplies increase, our ultimate goal is to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to all Veterans and employees who wish to be vaccinated.”

Sedona AZ (December 30, 2020) – The Sedona Heritage Museum recently accepted a gift of a bronze sculpture by famous local artist Joe Beeler. Terrie Frankel, Sedona collector and community advocate, made the gift in the name of her sister, Jennie, and herself. The sisters are perhaps best known as the “Doublemint Twins”.The maquette is entitled “Charlie”, and is a portrait of Beeler’s friend and co-founder of the Cowboy Artists of America, painter Charlie Dye.
