By Amaya Gayle GregoryTears are running down my cheeks. God, I love life. I read this quote, “If you could see your whole life start to finish, would you change anything?” With that simple question I dropped to my knees. Human beings are devastatingly beautiful, genuinely resilient and most have not an inkling of the true majesty hiding in plain sight.

The most surprising was the suffering. I had not experienced suffering in some time and had become unfamiliar with it. For almost two days I experienced suffering which was related entirely to a sense of self. It was a brilliant, humbling, and needed wake-up call that perhaps I still had some spiritual work to do. You think? This process never…

By Ted Grussing… We were on the water around 6:30 this morning and in search of wildlife to shoot. There were already quite a few people on the water … the migratory season has pretty much wrapped for the spring and our shooting is limited to those birds that have elected to remain in the area. There wasn’t a lot of action, but on the way back down the Castle Creek bay I saw what appeared to be an eagle landing on a relatively low perch over a glassy body of water … we cruised slowly, hoping to not disturb…
By Tommy Acosta(June 6, 2021)Once I was one but now, I am two. I just received a corneal transplant and I can almost feel the spirit and flesh of the dead person the transplant came from, as a newfound part of me.The reality is that in my right eye my DNA is now unified with the cornea of a cadaver.I can’t help feeling that somehow this bit of human tissue in my eye is a microcosm of the macrocosm this person who died once was. Were they tall, short, a woman or a man? A cop? A criminal? A Republican or…
