Sedona News – The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers, area residents and businesses that a section of State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon will be intermittently restricted overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Tuesday night, Nov. 22, to Wednesday morning, Nov. 23.
SR 89A will be restricted to traffic through the switchback portion of the roadway near the Pumphouse Wash Bridge (mileposts 387 – 390).
- The 15-minute, non-consecutive traffic stops may occur up to twice per hour between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Tuesday night, Nov. 22, to Wednesday morning, Nov. 23.
Drivers should be prepared to stop and use caution around construction personnel and equipment – or consider using an alternate route – while the overnight restriction is in place.
The restrictions are needed as crews continue working on the bridge rehabilitation portion of the SR 89A Oak Creek Canyon Improvements project, which also includes rockfall mitigation and erosion control work.
