Letter to The Editor: How to impeach Trump

logo_lettereditorThere’s this loud call I hear from many democrats to impeach Donald Trump. Add in those street protests for impeaching him.

Well then, how does this becomes a fact?

Only two legal ways it does that I can find and both are embodied in the Constitution and in Amendments where in part it says…

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution states this: ” …. shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. “

The other place is in Amendment XXV Section 4 where it says ….: ” the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties …. ”

So far there has been no court appearance of Trump on criminal behavior nor is one pending. VP Pence has not spoken up about Trump’s inability to perform and that he, Pence, intends to take over.

So is Nancy Pelosi got it right to not endorse the popular democrat left’s idea for impeaching Trump?

Mr. Roberts, I get your point and my question to you is why would you still support a person who has lied so many times? I’m not talking about his “fake” news rants but honest to goodness lies. Lies that, unless you’ve lived under a rock for the past 2.5 years, are very visible and in the public eye. Putting aside the over 10k confirmed lies, how about simple ones like: “I’ll make Mexico pay for the wall”.

Why would you support a man who bullies everyone who challenges him? I’m still waiting for Trump a dump to behave “Presidential’. I have always lived by the old saying, “the respect you give is the respect you get”.

I could go on and on but I’m trying to keep the point simple so that I can get a simple answer.

BTW, I voted for Trump a dump because I actually believe that he was some hope for all of us and I turned my back on him 30 days later.

    2. Carol Rizzi on June 17, 2019 8:33 pm

Yes, let’s keep it simple. If you want to speak about lies, how about Obama saying at least, over 30 times, “If you like the plan you have, you can keep it. If you like the doctor you have, you can keep your doctor, too. The only change you’ll see are falling costs as our reforms take hold.” This lie was more egregious than stating Mexico will pay for a wall.
There were also many, many more lies in that administration (a very long list)…

You are a hypocrite and burying your head in the sand.

Both John Daniels and Carol Rizzi need to reread my letter. When they do it should then be apparent that any attempt to impeach Trump must first pass over major hurdles. My 6th paragraph tells you this.

The left leaning side of the democrat party seems to ignore this absolutely formidable headwind. So let those calling for impeachment stumble on and come up against the Supreme Court rejection of any impeachment vote in the Congress ( fat chance in the Senate ).

That should turn off enough voters in 2020 and avoid us from having to contend with the wild free everything democrat control of the nation. Give Pelosi credit for being a savvy politician.

I did not vote for Donald.

      John,

The article was on impeachment and well said. It is easy to get distracted. I believe that if someone wants to start a “who lied” the most, or “who had the most scandals” then off to the races. But your point is well taken, and Pelosi knows it.

    5. John Daniels W on June 18, 2019 4:15 pm

      Mike Schroeder,

It’s really not about who lied more, it’s more about who’s lying now! There is no question that Obama lied but that doesn’t give Trump a license to lie also. When I voted for him I thought I was voting for a guy who wanted to make America great again, didn’t happen. I’m still waiting for Trump to be presidential let alone to stop acting like a child.

I also must point out that during Obama’s 8 years not one of his people were convicted now it’s about how many of Trump’s people are remaining that haven’t been convicted.

    6. John Roberts on June 18, 2019 5:17 pm

John Daniels, this subject is not about lying. It is about impeachment of Donald Trump and whether or not it can even happen. How about opening your book on the creation of our government and read facts and drop the diversion tactic you seem to want to pursue..Or write the editor a letter about lying.

We are also interested in what happens to the democrats if they push the impeachment issue too far and what the voter reaction would then be,

We would like you to join in the discussion but it ain’t about who is or when the lying took place.

John, so do you agree with Pelosi or not.

    7. archie mendez on June 24, 2019 9:59 am

If the democrats want a civil war, they should go ahead with their plans. It will only tear the country apart and make America a third-world country.

Those that think this is a good idea should remember that Hillary Clinton was the other choice.

    8. John Roberts on June 25, 2019 2:27 am

Archie , as with lying, what has this to do with impeaching trump ? In my opinion, absolutely nothing, so pipe down and make it the subject of a letter to the editor to stand on it’s own and not diverge from the subject in hand.
