logo 100tonPhoenix AZ (January 26, 2012) – In honor of the Arizona Centennial, ABC15 and Fry’s Food Stores are joining forces for the 100-Ton Food Drive. This statewide effort aims to gather 100 tons of food to help hungry Arizona families during the month of February.

ABC15 and Fry’s Food Stores are asking for viewers and customers to make a difference by dropping off non-perishable food items and making monetary donations. The 100-Ton Food Drive will take place at all 121 Fry’s Food Store locations throughout the state of Arizona.

In addition to collection each day in February, each week ABC15 will host 100-Ton Tuesdays with weather anchors Amber Sullins and Amy Murphy. They will be on location at various Fry’s Food Stores encouraging viewers to donate during each newscast throughout the day.

ABC15 will also host a phone bank on Tuesday, February 21 from 2:30-6:30pm for viewers to call and make monetary donations toward the 100-Ton Food Drive.

“We are teaming up to create our most ambitious community effort with the 100-Ton Food Drive,” says Fry’s Food Stores President Jon Flora. “Together we can all make a difference.”

The 100-Ton Food Drive will take place from February 1 through February 29. Help celebrate our state’s centennial and fight hunger to make Arizona a better place to live.
