Sedona AZ (October 2, 2018) – The Red RockAppella Chorus will host an open-house singalong on October 22nd at 7pm in the Sedona Winds Activity Room 475 Jacks Canyon Rd in the Village of Oak Creek. This choral ensemble is a group of dynamic women who love to sing the rich barbershop harmonies of the Sweet Adelines International Organization.
Chartered since 2007, the award-winning small chorus is seeking new voices to join the fold. Red RockAppella offers music education in the form of weekly voice lessons and a fun and challenging repertoire. You do not have to be an excellent solo singer. In fact, blending is an all-important aspect of the barbershop sound. In the beginning, we stand in parts so you can get used to your new songs. All of the music is in four-part harmony. In this genre the parts are called tenor (highest notes), lead (the melody line), baritone (the ultimate harmonizer), and bass (the lowest notes and the foundation of our sound). Your voice has a place in our chorus.
Join us for the holiday season where you will get a chance to try out singing with us by performing with us in public. Red RockAppella is planning Sedona’s Big Sing which will take place December 8th where we invite choral groups from all over the Verde Valley to come and sing separately and together WITH the audience! It is a community singalong on a large scale and we will send the public away with an appreciation for choral music and some uplifting holiday spirit. The RedRockAppella chorus invites you to participate in this fun event in addition to some holiday caroling later in the season. Then, in January, you can decide if barbershop harmonies will be a part of your life in the future.
