logo_clarkdalehistoricalsocietyClarkdale AZ (September 11, 2018) – Free public tours of the Clark Memorial Clubhouse will begin once again on September 19, 2018. See the unchanged splendor of William A. Clark’s gift to the employees of the United Verde Copper Company smelter and their families. Dedicated in 1927, this structure had been designed by Clark himself in 1918. But world events put it on hold. Over 5,000 people attended the grand opening. His progressive attitude permeated every house, building and amenity he designed into his town.

Tours meet at 9:45 am at the Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum for a brief history of the town. The tour guides will lead the group to the clubhouse at a leisurely pace. This tour is handicapped accessible and will last approximately 90 minutes.
