Sedona AZ (April 11, 2018) – Mom. How can you ever thank her enough? She’s nurtured you, supported you and cheered for you every step of the way. Her influence on your life’s path is immeasurable. Just ask bronze sculptor and gallery owner Ken Rowe, who frequently credits his mom, an amateur oil painter, for his love of art. Standing at her side while she captured the Arizona landscape and created portraits of family members left an indelible mark on Ken, which is why Rowe Fine Art Gallery pays tribute to all moms this May. Join Ken and the rest of the gallery team for Our Family of Artists: In Honor of Mom, which happens May 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. as part of the Sedona Gallery Association’s 1st Friday Gallery Tour.
“Moms can be a tremendous source of inspiration and motivation,” says Ken. “My mom was a working mother, and her art was a release – it nurtured her soul. She was a different person in the studio, and the more she worked outside of the home, the more it meant to her to spend time in her studio. That made a huge impression on me. She passed away in 2003, but she had quite a few of my sculptures – she liked the smaller, humorous pieces. She was very proud.”
