logo_arizonacommunityfoundationSedona AZ (January 10, 2017) – In preparation for their annual competitive grants processes, the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona and the Arizona Community Foundation of Yavapai County invite representatives of local nonprofit organizations, public schools, municipalities and Tribal entities to attend one of two upcoming grant workshops in Prescott and Sedona. Topics to be covered at the workshops include application instructions, eligibility requirements, guidelines and an overview of the online grants center and application process. Both workshops are scheduled in late January.

The ACF of Yavapai County Grant Application Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24, and will take place at the Yavapai College Prescott Campus, Building 3, Room 119 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. To register for this workshop, visit acfygrantsjan24.eventbrite.com.

A second workshop, offered through the ACF of Sedona, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, and will take place at the Yavapai College Clarkdale Campus, Community Room from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. To register for this workshop, visit sedonagrants2017.eventbrite.com. Registration is required and space is limited. The workshops are free and open to all nonprofit representatives.

The Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona accepts funding requests from qualified nonprofit organizations, public schools, municipalities and Tribal entities in amounts ranging from $500 to $10,000. Grant applicants must provide services within Sedona and the Verde Valley.

The 2017 competitive grant process will begin Wednesday, March 1, with final applications due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21.

Last year, the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona awarded more than $181,000 in grants through its competitive grants cycle—plus an additional $100,000 in challenge grants—for a total of over $281,000 awarded to 45 nonprofit organizations serving residents of Sedona and the Verde Valley. Grant funding may be awarded in interest areas including youth programs, social services, healthcare, eye care, music and art, the environment, and to support local law enforcement agencies’ canine units.

Local staff are available to answer further questions and assist nonprofit organizations during the application process. For more information, contact Regional Philanthropic Advisor Tracey McConnell at 928.399.7218 or TMcConnell@azfoundation.org.
