Sedona AZ (September 10, 2016) – The Red Rock Business Summit 2016, is a daylong event focused on providing aspiring and established entrepreneurs with meaningful tools and resources that they need to develop and grow their businesses. It is being held Friday, November 4, 2016 in the Vista Hall at The Collective Sedona in the Village of Oak Creek.

The event hosted by the NAWBO Sedona Verde Valley Chapter, Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona and the eWomenNetwork.com, is open to the public. It was developed through a collaborative effort to engage with and foster the entire business community of the Verde Valley.

“Our vision for the event is to develop a “Toolkit for Success” for new and established business owner to launch or re-engineer their business, “commented Tamara Middleton, President of the NAWBO Sedona Verde Valley Chapter. “This program is designed to empower the attendee to develop strategies to build good connections, a concise business plan, understand their finances, and construct a marketing strategy with focused sales goals designed for customer retention.  We are all very excited to bring this to our community.”

The event includes four general sessions covering the topics of networking and building connections (both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C)), creating a business plan, understanding financial statements, marketing and sales. There will be a “Power” working luncheon where attendees will be introduced to professionals that will share their best practices and why it is important you have someone in their role as a mentor in your corner.  The panel includes an accountant, attorney, payroll and benefits specialist, money manager, banker and insurance advisor.  Attendees can ask questions during the working lunch.  Finally, the program will end with a B2B Networking and Vendor Fair where attendees can meet with other participants, the speakers and exhibitors to learn what resources are available for their firms.

The cost for the event is $79 until October 7, 2016 and then $99.  It includes a luncheon buffet with vegetarian and gluten-free options and a happy hour after the summit.

Sponsorships and Exhibit opportunities are available. Pre-registration is encouraged as space is limited. For more information and register go to www.RRBusinessSummit.net.  The Collective Sedona is located at 7000 AZ-179, Sedona, AZ 86351.

The Mission of the Sedona – Verde Valley Chapter of NAWBO is to promote the excellence of their members, thereby strengthening their businesses and the vitality of the Northern Arizona economy; connect independent, vibrant business owners locally, regionally, nationally and globally; stimulate their members’ business potential through education, training and mentoring.

    We Have Been Thoroughly Trained!
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

Throughout the years, we have been trained. Part of the training is to see others as trained, but not ourselves. Even though we are the others that others are trained to see as trained, we tend to miss that little nuance. The training says we must know what’s right and speak out when we see something that runs contrary to our understanding of rightness. We don’t stop to realize that what we see as right isn’t exactly right or it would be the right version that everyone in their right mind knew as right. There are billions of versions of right but ours is the only real right one. Seems fishy, doesn’t it? We spend our days, our lives, catching others — the wrong ones — doing and saying things in support of their versions of right and our training has us jumping on the critical bandwagon lest we be painted in support of the wrong right. What in this crazy world moves us with such amazing force to crave rightness, to need to be seen as right? Read more→
