    Pollinator Talk and a Live Snake Display coming to Red Rock Visitor Center

    logo_USFS_USDASedona AZ (May 14, 2014) – The Red Rock Ranger District invites the public to learn more about native wildlife this month at the Red Rock Visitor Center. 

    On May 16th at 11:00 a.m., join Bob Beltz, Friends of the Forest volunteer, as he discusses Desert Pollinators – A Key to Desert Life and learn about some of the usual and unusual methods that desert plants use for pollination.

    Then on Memorial Day weekend, May 24th and May 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Russell Dunn and Karen McClelland, Arizona Game and Fish volunteers, will feature a live snake display allowing the public to handle non-venomous snakes. 

    These events are free to the public and are a combined effort from the USDA Forest Service, Arizona Natural History Association, and Friends of the Forest.  The Red Rock Visitor Center is located on highway 179, one mile south of the Village of Oak Creek.  For more information, please call the Red Rock District at (928) 203-2900.
