Clarkdale AZ (December 6, 2013) – The Clarkdale Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on December 17, 2013 in the Men’s Lounge of the Clark Memorial Clubhouse at 19 N. 9th Street to discuss changes to the Zoning Code regarding the manufacturing of consumable products.
The draft ordinance to be discussed would add manufacturing and production of consumable products as permitted uses in the Central Business and Commercial Zoning Districts within the Town. Consumable products are items such as specialty food and cheeses, soaps, lotions, essential oils and pet food. The changes would also allow distillation and production of alcoholic beverages.
The primary goal of this ordinance is to broaden the available uses for empty buildings along Main Street in Clarkdale, as well as future commercial development along SR 89A, to generate economic growth and diversity throughout the Town.
The public is encouraged to attend the hearing to provide input to the Planning Commission as they review this proposed ordinance.
