Sedona, Az — There is a new [May 19, 2026] report on NPR, Minnesota becomes first state to ban prediction markets, stating that, “The new state law makes it a crime to host or advertise a prediction market, which it defines as a system that lets consumers place a wager on a future outcome, like sports, elections, live entertainment, someone’s word choice and world affairs.”

“The prohibition extends to services supporting prediction markets, like virtual private networks, that could allow consumers to disguise their location and get around the ban.”

“It would force prediction market sites like Kalshi and Polymarket to leave the state, or face possible felony charges. The law takes effect in August.”

“Besides Minnesota, bills cracking down on the prediction market industry have been introduced in seven other states, according to the National Conference of State Legislators. Two of those states, Hawaii and North Carolina, have pending bills seeking to ban the industry statewide.”

“Experts say the cloud of legal uncertainty hanging over prediction markets apps have not slowed their rapid growth.”

“The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has filed federal lawsuits against five states, including Arizona, Wisconsin and New York, attempting to override state regulators’ attempts to rein in the betting sites.”

The possibilities of prediction markets are now out there. This means that even if regulations are effective against some platforms or their features, the behavioral patterns that led to their success could be — alternatively — harnessed.

This makes it possible to explore ways to provide a general risk awareness against the mind build up for which the some of the behavior is based.

This means that, for example, like illegal drugs, it is not just to [say] remove a chemical ingredient from circulation, but to present a display of the mind, so that whatever made the behavior thrive — or whatever might make an alternative blossom — is approximated. [Methaqualone was restricted and banned, which phased out Quaalude, still addiction continued, for many, and a switch to other drugs]

This indicates that the solution is to show the mind for addiction, especially how, what it does, so that even as there could be friction, there might be more self-control, or even an understanding that persistence in that direction is a risk — which can be measured and scored, conceptually.

So, providing a display of the human mind, to show the process of plays and the hold of addiction, can be beneficial, towards amassing more willpower and for real-time proximity towards risk, to raise the awareness of consequences.

It is proposed that there can be a problem gambling research lab with conceptual neuroimaging, to show the relays and destinations of the mind, to ensure that there is more fairness around how individuals manage and deal with prediction markets addiction.

This will be based on conceptual brain science, for the human mind.

It is possible to have a working prototype within three weeks, then with testing and deployment immediately after. The solution will carry a lot of mind and behavioral safety capabilities, for more opportunities towards balance.

It is likely that the prediction markets companies do not want people’s lives destroyed by their products, so they also want to ensure that people know what they are doing, it means providing this dynamic display is a major approach to usage care, mind safety, caution maximization and consequences minimization.

The solution is based on the postulation in Conceptual Biomarkers and Theoretical Biological Factors for Psychiatric and Intelligence Nosology.
