Sedona, Az — There is a new [May 19, 2026] report on NPR, Minnesota becomes first state to ban prediction markets, stating that, “The new state law makes it a crime to host or advertise a prediction market, which it defines as a system that lets consumers place a wager on a future outcome, like sports, elections, live entertainment, someone’s word choice and world affairs.”
“The prohibition extends to services supporting prediction markets, like virtual private networks, that could allow consumers to disguise their location and get around the ban.”
“It would force prediction market sites like Kalshi and Polymarket to leave the state, or face possible felony charges. The law takes effect in August.”
“Besides Minnesota, bills cracking down on the prediction market industry have been introduced in seven other states, according to the National Conference of State Legislators. Two of those states, Hawaii and North Carolina, have pending bills seeking to ban the industry statewide.”
“Experts say the cloud of legal uncertainty hanging over prediction markets apps have not slowed their rapid growth.”
“The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has filed federal lawsuits against five states, including Arizona, Wisconsin and New York, attempting to override state regulators’ attempts to rein in the betting sites.”
Problem Gambling Research Lab
The possibilities of prediction markets are now out there. This means that even if regulations are effective against some platforms or their features, the behavioral patterns that led to their success could be — alternatively — harnessed.
This makes it possible to explore ways to provide a general risk awareness against the mind build up for which the some of the behavior is based.
This means that, for example, like illegal drugs, it is not just to [say] remove a chemical ingredient from circulation, but to present a display of the mind, so that whatever made the behavior thrive — or whatever might make an alternative blossom — is approximated. [Methaqualone was restricted and banned, which phased out Quaalude, still addiction continued, for many, and a switch to other drugs]
This indicates that the solution is to show the mind for addiction, especially how, what it does, so that even as there could be friction, there might be more self-control, or even an understanding that persistence in that direction is a risk — which can be measured and scored, conceptually.
So, providing a display of the human mind, to show the process of plays and the hold of addiction, can be beneficial, towards amassing more willpower and for real-time proximity towards risk, to raise the awareness of consequences.
It is proposed that there can be a problem gambling research lab with conceptual neuroimaging, to show the relays and destinations of the mind, to ensure that there is more fairness around how individuals manage and deal with prediction markets addiction.
This will be based on conceptual brain science, for the human mind.
It is possible to have a working prototype within three weeks, then with testing and deployment immediately after. The solution will carry a lot of mind and behavioral safety capabilities, for more opportunities towards balance.
It is likely that the prediction markets companies do not want people’s lives destroyed by their products, so they also want to ensure that people know what they are doing, it means providing this dynamic display is a major approach to usage care, mind safety, caution maximization and consequences minimization.
The solution is based on the postulation in Conceptual Biomarkers and Theoretical Biological Factors for Psychiatric and Intelligence Nosology.

We can eliminate every prediction market on earth and yet Corrupt Criminal Politicians will still have insider trading info and the influence to influence their constituents investing and losing their money while enriching themselves. Take the money out of politics especially the dark money and just watch the corrupt swamp rats jump ship!
The Special Forces Soldier indicted on charges he invested heavily into predicting the raid on illegal raid on Venezuela is probably 1 in thousands who took place in the Op who made money off of predicting that Venezuela would be invaded utilizing the information they received from leaky siv like lackadaisical unqualified leadership throughout the Pentagon using The Signal App to transmit classified information regarding military operations. Most soldiers come from middle to lower economic backgrounds so when easy money presents itself they are often tempted by it. I had a buddy who was a Parachute Rigger for a Special Forces unit. He was also HALO/HAHO qualified and he relayed to me that he and a buddy were offered huge sums of money (millions of USD)to HALO jump cocaine into the Florida Everglades. He claims to not have done so? But then I think back to King Fahd bin Abduluaziz Al Sud offering to give every coalition soldier bigly money for their service in protecting the Saudi Kingdom from Saddam Hussein.
Allegedly W’s CIA ex POTUS daddy politely declined the offer and said, “our soldiers are not mercenaries” (that was before W actually raised a Mercenary Army named Blackwater and deployed it to Iraq). Any professional soldier would agree with that sentiment despite technically still being paid mercenaries only in a legitimate military. I’m guessing old Herbert Walker Bush did get some direct financing from the Royal Family that commits some of the most atrocious humans rights violations on earth, murders journalists and whose country suspiciously was home to the majority of the 9/11 hijackers. Ah but then again the Bush family was besties with the Bin Ladin family to include Usama himself back when he fought against and helped to finance the Mujahideen Army fighting the Soviet Russian invasion of Afghanistan in the 80’s.
Anywho, the prediction markets are all scams and should be made illegal. But then again so should online gambling in general. John Oliver’s last episode touched on the very subject as I’m sure you’re aware. If not watch it, it is eye opening.
hmmmm, prediction markets addiction might become a thing, maybe
Sure it’s an addiction (but not for those in politics for them it’s a means to rip off others using their insider trading knowledge) that’s how they make such bigly yuge profits!
