Sedona News – The Sedona Heritage Museum will host a celebration of historic preservation on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 4 pm.  The event will take place in the historic Apple Shed at the Museum.  It is free to attend.

The event will celebrate Sedona’s nearly two dozen historic landmarked properties.  Owners of the properties have been invited to share with attendees exactly what makes their landmark special.  Some of the landmarked properties are privately owned while others, like the buildings in Jordan Historical Park, are open for the public to explore.

“We are really excited for this event,” said Nate Meyers, Executive Director of the Sedona Historical Society and Sedona Heritage Museum.  “This is a great opportunity for the people who own landmarked properties to share what they love about them, and a great opportunity for members of the community to learn a little bit about the history of Sedona and our built landscape.”

Among the landmarked properties that will be highlighted are buildings which are on both the local landmark register and the National Register of Historic Places: Sedona Ranger Station, Chapel of the Holy Cross, Hart Store, and the Jordan Farmstead.

The event kicks of National Preservation Month, which is celebrated every year in May.

The Sedona Historical Society operates the Sedona Heritage Museum located in Jordan Historical Park, 735 Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona, Arizona.  Open daily 11 am – 3 pm.  For more information call 928-282-7038 or visit www.sedonamuseum.org.
