Sedona, AZ — I want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to vote in this election. Whether you voted for me or supported another candidate, I appreciate your participation. Local elections matter because the decisions made by your City Council affect our daily lives and the future of our community.
As a member of the Sedona City Council, I will work to make thoughtful decisions that benefit the greatest number of residents. Fiscal responsibility is very important to me, but being fiscally responsible does not mean avoiding necessary investments. It means spending our money carefully and wisely on projects that improve the lives of the people who live here.
We can continue making transportation improvements that reduce traffic congestion, follow through on the community’s desire for a recreation center, and create open, grassy space for outdoor gatherings and events. We can respond to residents’ priorities while still managing the city’s finances responsibly.
Every project and policy will have supporters and opponents. It is important for everyone to speak up, share their concerns, and participate in the discussion. Once the voters or the community have made a clear decision, however, we must respect that decision, even when we personally disagree.
I opposed Proposition 403, and the voters placed me in the minority on that issue. But the people of Sedona gave the city a clear directive, and I will respect and support their decision. I am happy to do so.
Democracy works best when we can debate issues honestly, listen to different points of view, and honor the will of the majority without anger or resentment.
As we address these and other important issues, I look forward to listening to residents, working with my fellow council members, developing practical solutions, and taking action to move Sedona forward.
I am deeply honored by the trust you have placed in me, and I will do my very best to serve our entire community over the next four years.
