Sedona News – The city of Sedona invites area residents to its first Food Resilience Workshop to learn about sustainable food resources and ways to produce their own food in the Verde Valley, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Community Library Sedona at 3250 White Bear Rd.

More specifically, Gardens for Humanity, Verde Valley School, Garden of Life, Healthy World Sedona and Slow Food will discuss topics on sustainable gardening at home and in the community, designing food forests (a method of planting that resembles the way plants grow in their natural ecosystem and reduces the need to replant every year), and other information about sourcing nutritious food without having to rely on food found predominantly in grocery stores.

Registration is encouraged at this free event. For more information and to confirm registration, please contact Sustainability Coordinator Amy Wright at AWright@sedonaaz.gov or call 928-203-5115.
