Sedona News – ACF of Sedona is pleased to announce registration is now open for its annual Grant Awards Celebration.  The event is open to public and will be held appropriately on National Philanthropy Day – Friday, November 15, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Sedona Performing Arts Center, 995 Upper Red Rock Loop Road, Sedona, AZ 86336. The majority of the funding for the annual grants cycle comes from the Sedona Community Fund, which has received 1,026 donations from the community since its inception in 1991. Every contribution which has ranged from $25 to half a million makes a collective difference for the people of Sedona and the Verde Valley.

More than 100 organizations in the Sedona and Verde Valley area applied for funding in this competitive grant cycle. The applications were reviewed and evaluated by 42 volunteer grant panelists serving in six panels. The award winners will be presented a check at the event. Each organization was either a verified 501c3 nonprofit, school, or municipality and applied during the open grant cycle, which closed in August. Funding requests ranged from $1,000 to $10,000.  The grant panels are currently still in session. The ACF of Sedona Board of Advisors will vote on the grant panels’ recommendations at the end of October.

The Grant Awards Celebration is a wonderful way to kick off the giving season and learn about the phenomenal projects happening within the community.  Registration for the free event is now available at acf.cventevents.com/grantcelebration1115. For more information, contact ACF of Sedona’s Regional Director Sheri Denny at 928.399.7218 or sdenny@azfoundation.org.
