Sedona News – The Sedona Heritage Museum is excited to present THE DEAD QUILTERS SOCIETY, a brand new musical historical dramedy, written by Dev Ross with songs composed by Shondra Jepperson. Local performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1st, 2nd at 7pm, and Sunday, Nov. 3rd at 3pm in the Apple Shed at the Sedona Heritage Museum.

THE DEAD QUILTERS SOCIETY features five female actors who portray five unique and beloved women.  Open auditions will be held in the Apple Shed at the Sedona Heritage Museum on September 3 from 4 pm to 7 pm.

We are looking for five female actors over the age of 30 who can sing well and act. Actors/Singers with professional experience required for this paid gig.

    ROLES:

    • Katie Lee: Caucasian: actress, singer, writer, activist
    • Annie Wauneka: Dine‘/Navajo: health activist and tribal leader
    • Dora Madrid: Hispanic: Chavez Ranch, a Rosie the Riveter and Sedona historian
    • Marguerite Staude: Caucasian: artist, visionary, the Chapel
    • Fanny Gulick: Caucasian: town ‘character,’ hardcore businesswoman

To set an audition time please send an email to DevAndShondra@Gmail.com.

One actor must also be able to play guitar. Auditionees will be provided with audition scripts and must come prepared to sing a song of their choice.

“We are really excited for this new show from the creative team of Dev Ross and Shondra Jepperson,” said Nate Meyers, Executive Director of the Sedona Historical Society and Sedona Heritage Museum.  “It’s a creative way to bring figures from Sedona’s past to life.  I think audience members will be both entertained and most importantly leave with a better understanding of the history of the place they call home.”

The Sedona Historical Society operates the Sedona Heritage Museum located in Jordan Historical Park, 735 Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona, Arizona.  Open daily 11 am – 3 pm.  For more information call 928-282-7038 or visit www.sedonamuseum.org.
