Sedona News – The city of Sedona welcomes Andrew Grossmann as the new tourism manager after a nationwide search. Starting the position on July 1, 2024, Grossmann now manages the new Tourism Program that was created in 2023 as part of the city’s designation as the official Destination Management Organization (DMO).

Grossmann comes with over 10 years of experience in the professional tourism industry. Most recently, he was the director of destination development for the Colorado Tourism Office. Working closely with destinations like Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Durango, he has unique insight into the challenges and opportunities that are facing established Western U.S. destinations. Grossmann also comes with prior career experience at Travel Oregon and Sustainable Travel International.

“Working directly with more than 50 destinations across Colorado and Oregon has given me exposure to so many of the challenges that locations like Sedona are dealing with. I’m looking forward to taking all the lessons learned and bringing them into this new setting,” said Grossmann.

“Andrew’s experience with helping communities we regularly compare ourselves to, in addition to his deep understanding of the importance of working closely with the Arizona Office of Tourism, makes him the perfect fit to take the Tourism Program to the next level. I can’t wait to see how he grows and develops this program,” said Communications Director Lauren Browne.

In the first year, the Tourism Program had many big accomplishments, including setting up a Tourism Advisory Board comprised of both residents and business representatives, executing two destination marketing campaigns, creating a strategic plan, initiating a branding process and now hiring a tourism manager.
