Sedona has Community Policing? I rarely if ever see a patrol drive down my street or running radar during peak traffic hours. Never seen officers walking through neighborhoods and interacting with residents as Community Policing Predominantly entails. It also entails helping folks like Seniors with simple assistance like gutter cleaning or doing a BBQ for various neighborhoods when possible and not just doing Coffee with a Cop. People tend to sometimes misjudge Police Departments who aren’t Community Policing Departments and whose officers are only seen making arrests and knocking heads often being the only time the public sees them.
I do see patrols on 89A most every time I see one. I get there is policing and possibly big bust items to look for on 89A such as drug and human smuggling, DWI/DUI drivers but our neighbor hoods need and deserve equal or more attention than what is given to 89A traffic control which somehow misses the Monster Trucks and Stock Cars from blasting down it!
For the most part Sedona PD does its job keeping law and order in Sedona which is commendable. Just think they could do a far better job of integrating with and patrolling our neighborhoods.
