Sedona News – Voters in USA Today’s competition to determine the 10 best small town museums have weighed in: the Sedona Heritage Museum is one of the 10 Best Small Town Museums in the nation!  In the final voting, released on February 23, Sedona Heritage Museum finished in 7th place.  Another Verde Valley museum, Douglas Mansion in Jerome State Historic Park, finished in 9th place.

“We are excited about this incredible honor,” said Nate Meyers, Executive Director of the museum.  “We are grateful to all our friends and supporters who cast votes for the Sedona Heritage Museum.  It means so much to be recognized.  It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers and staff who make this museum special.”

Sedona Historical Society President Al Comello said, “The Sedona Heritage Museum deserves to be recognized as one of the best small-town museums. Sedona’s story is fascinating and a valuable lesson about the history of America as it expanded westward. Our history is young compared to most places in America and the Sedona Museum does a thorough and heartfelt job of telling that story. It also allows residents and visitors to experience history through its regular events and sponsored speakers. We should all be proud of our museum.”
